Abstract Submission is OPEN!

The Abstract Submission for PSE 2026 is now open!
Researchers and industrial partners are warmly invited to contribute their latest results to the conference program. The list of conference topics can be found in the announcement above. Summarize your recent findings and submit your abstract via the online submission portal.

📅 Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the International Program Committee and confirmed by the EJC/PISE. Review results will be announced in April 2026.
At previous conferences, more than 300 abstracts were submitted, with over 60% selected for oral presentations. For PSE 2026, a fourth parallel session has been added, offering even more opportunities for oral and invited presentations.

Poster presentations will also play a strong role at PSE 2026. Posters will be available as PDFs in the digital program, and presenters will have the option to upload a short video explanation. In addition, dynamic on-site poster sessions will feature around 50 posters per one-hour session — a great opportunity for direct exchange and discussion.

Abstract Submission

EJC/PISE confirms new formats for the PSE Conference

September 4, 2025

The International Committee met in September to prepare key elements of the upcoming PSE 2026 Conference. One focus was the selection of plenary speakers, for which many renowned and experienced experts were proposed by the Advisory Board and the International Scientific Committee. The confirmed speakers will be announced soon.

For the first time, the community was also invited to propose invited sessions. This new format offers the opportunity to highlight emerging research topics or showcase results from major European projects and collaborative initiatives. The aim is to encourage researchers to present their latest work to the PSE community. The first confirmed sessions will be published here on the website shortly.

To further strengthen the link between science and industry, the committee also decided to establish an International Industrial Committee. This new group will discuss topics relevant to industry, contribute to the Industrial Workshop and Conference Special Topic, and support new activities in the accompanying exhibition.

We are looking forward to an engaging and interactive PSE 2026!

European Joint Committee for Plasma and Ion Surface Engineering EJC/PISE confirmed PSE2026 Concept

April 2025

PSE Conferences are organized by the EJC/PISE. The first preparations were already made in 2025 to pave the way for the next international conference. The new PSE2026 team created a new concept for a pioneering and engaging conference that involves the community with their ideas and needs and sets new standards.

We are delighted and are looking forward to the new announcements in September 2025 to provide initial insights into the upcoming event.

PSE2024 Special Issue Publications at Journal Surface and Coatings Technology

June 2024

We are very pleased about the strong request of authors to publish a paper in the planned PSE2024 Special Issue. Over 100 authors agreed to a full paper publication. Now, the Journal for Surface and Coatings Technology is in preparation of the paper submission tool. The Submission will be opened on July 01, 2024 at the Journals website here. The Deadline for paper submission will be November 30, 2024. All information about paper submission you can find in the guide for authors. All authors will be informed at July 01, 2024 again about all detailed information to PSE2024 Special Issue via E-Mail.
