The Partner Country of PSE2026 is Iberia. During PSE2026 the Country and their community of Plasma Surface Engineering were presented specially. For this purpose a Partner Country Workshop is organized together with Ramon Escobar Galindo, Universidad de Sevilla, Spain and the Spanish and Potuguese Materials Society (SOCIEMAT, SPM).

A Special Thanks to our Partner Country Chairman, Ramon Escobar Galindo and the supporters of these activities. The Workshop attracted over 60 experts from companies and research institutes. Fruitful discussions and inspiring presentations invite to get an impression of the countries expertise and the great community for plasma surface engineering in Iberia.
This symposium marked the starting point for the selection of Iberia as the “partner country” at the upcoming Plasma Surface Engineering (PSE 2026) conference, which will take place in Erfurt from August 31 to September 3 (https://pse-conferences.net/home/partner-country/).
The abstract submission is now open with the deadline of January 31 (May for companies applying for commercial stands). We will have a special Iberian symposium within the conference, including a plenary lecture by Prof. Agustín Rodríguez González-Elipe, as well as a dedicated space for Iberian companies. We hope to have a broad Iberian representation to showcase the extensive activity of both countries in the field of surface engineering.
Additionally, throughout 2026 we will request your inputs to create a map/atlas of capabilities in Iberia in this field before PSE 2026. This will be made available to all attendees at PSE 2026, with the aim of promoting our capabilities internationally, fostering collaborations and business opportunities.

Iberia has been selected as partner country in the next 20th International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering (PSE2026). The Spanish and Portuguese Materials Society (SOCIEMAT, SPM) and the European Society of Thin Films (EFDS) are organizing the various events associated with this invitation. The industrial workshop ‘Advancing to a competitive industrial transition through surface engineering solutions’ (2-3 October, 2025, San Sebastian, Spain) will be a unique opportunity to showcase the enormous industrial, research and academic activity that is carried out in these two countries in the field of Surface Engineering.

JOINT BOOTH IBERIA
During PSE2026 a joint booth of Iberian partners at the exhibition is planned. Spanish and portuguese companies and institutes can announce their interest at the PSE conference office under pse-conferences@efds.org.
